The DAR Series
ISA’s Wireless Transmitter Detectors

DAR Series - Wireless Transmitter Detectors

Designed specifically for areas with strong RF interference, ISA’s Wide Range Wireless Transmitter Detectors, codename DAR-1 and DAR-3, can detect the presence of eavesdropping signals, particularly in urban environments. The benefit of a DAR, is that it’s not a complex receiver nor are they a limited diode detector. It allows the operator to use a receiver that is neither overly complex nor too simple for a particular situation.

Wide and Extended Range Detection

The DAR series contains two Wireless Transmitter Detectors. The DAR-1 will cover frequencies from 50 Khz to 1300 Mhz, while the DAR-3 will cover 50 Khz through 12 Ghz. The difference with ISA’s DAR, is that reception is fully linear over the range instrument. The more common diode, feedback, and scan & lock detectors often have “holes” in their spectrum. These “holes” have been eliminated in the DAR, therefore, the operator will always have an accurate display of the environment.

The DAR comes with a unique mechanical multiplexing power line adapter which allows a full sweep of the power line to detect the presence of Carrier Current transmitters. This essential technique IS NOT available on equipment from other manufacturers!

The Unique Lev Alarm

After Sweep Protection

Once the initial electronic sweep is completed in a sensitive meeting room or area, there is no assurance that a transmitting device has not been carried into the meeting, or that a hidden transmitter is not activated from a remote location. The unique Lev Alarm feature in the DAR solves this problem by allowing the operator to set an RF threshold, equal to the RF energy level in the area at the completion of the initial sweep. Any increase in the RF level will cause an indicator lamp to flash and a beep signal to be generated by the receiver. This beep signal may be disabled by a panel switch if a silent alarm is preferable.

The DAR-3 Extended Range Transmitter Detector is specifically for those with concern over devices transmitting in the microwave frequency ranges. The DAR-3 includes a special log periodic microwave antenna unit and microwave detector module.
